1. Wear sunglasses outdoors and in the sunlight
Sunglasses can block harmful UV rays that can damage your eyes and cause cataracts, macular degeneration, and eye cancer.

2. Apply sunscreen lotion on the face with SPF 30+ whenever you step out in the sun during winter.
Sunscreen can protect your skin from sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer. It can also prevent eye damage from UV rays. Sunscreen can prevent reflection of UV rays from the skin onto the eyes.

3. Use a humidifier indoors to protect your eyes in winter
Humidifiers can add moisture to the air in your home or office, which can help keep your eyes healthy and hydrated. Dry air can cause dry eye symptoms or itchy eyes.

4. Wear glasses instead of contact lenses
Contact lenses can be uncomfortable to wear in cold temperatures, dry winds, and allergens. They can also shift around and cause vision problems. Glasses can prevent discomfort and protect your eyes from cold weather.

5. Use eye drops to lubricate dry eyes 
Eye drops, also called artificial tears, can help ease dry eye symptoms by keeping your eyes moist. Choose preservative-free eye drops if you have sensitive eyes or allergies.

6. Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes often
Touching or rubbing your eyes can introduce germs and irritants that can cause infections or inflammation. It can also worsen dry eye symptoms by removing the natural oils from your eyelids.

7. Drink plenty of water
Water helps hydrate your body and flush out toxins. It also helps maintain the balance of fluids in your body, including the tears that lubricate your eyes
